English Bulldog

English Bulldog, breed of service, and decorative fighting dogs. The name is translated from the English bulldog as a 'bull dog'. The origins of rocks erected by Molosser dogs, fighting dog, who lived in ancient Athens. In medieval England ancestors bulldogs were used for hunting large animals. In the early 18th century these dogs were involved in "baiting bulls," but in 1835, bull fights were banned. A Bill George continued to breed Bulldogs, turning in a good fighting dog, companion and good friend.


Officially, the breed was recognized in the late 19th century in Britain in the early 20th century - in the U.S.. In 1875 opened the first club of English bulldogs. In Russia, this breed was introduced in 1980 and immediately became very popular.

 This dog haired, stocky and strong, of medium size. Height at withers 38-40 cm Weight 22,5-24,75 kg. The head is massive, with very short, turned up muzzle. Ears small, stand-. Tail of this breed of moderate length, even short (no more than 8 cm). Paws are large with strong fingers. Unfortunately, the Bulldogs did not differ in longevity. Color solid, golden-brown, red, brownish-yellow, brindle, white and piebald. With solid color is desirable, "muzzle" or "mask".
