Bavarian Mountain Hound (Bayrischer Gebirgsschweisshund)



Bavarian Mountain Hound (Bayrischer Gebirgsschweisshund), breed of hunting hounds. Bred in Bavaria (Germany) in the 19th century by crossing different breeds of hounds for hunting Bavaria on cold trail on a deer. Most likely her ancestors - Hanoverian and Tyrolean hounds. This breed of blood hounds, combines all the qualities necessary to search for the wounded deer, but works well for a different game.



Bavarian Mountain Hound - light, compact dog with a well-muscled (withers height 51 cm, weight 25-35 kg). The head is small with hanging, set high and rounded at the ends of the ears. Short, shiny, lying coat can be of two colors: from pale to bright red mask or brindle.

The dog is not for hunting, choose a forest just for the weekend, and for the forester, with whom she had spent much of the nature of life. Bavarian hound need to work closely with the owner and the maximum exercise their hunting characteristics, limiting its acceptance as a pet. Requires regular exercise. Grooming simple.
