Akbash (Akbash Dog), breed of herding dogs in Turkey. Akbash ancestors came to Asia Minor, together with the Eastern travelers in the Middle Ages, and settled down at the local sheep farmers. Akbash endowed with subtle hearing and extreme strength. Among the ancestors of the breed can be traced mastiff, but the most powerful influence on the appearance of a slender, long-legged hounds have. White Akbash breed in Asia Minor, more than a thousand years. White coat color can distinguish shepherd dog in a herd of wolves. Modern Akbash is known throughout the world and in the U.S. it is a success even as a guard and working dog.

Height at withers 71-86 cm, weight 40 to 65 kg. Wool is of two types: short and long, with a well developed undercoat is always white color. Dogs with short hair surrounding deceptively appear somewhat smaller.
           
Akbash prudent and cautious, quickly oriented in the atmosphere, it must defend itself herd. For the maintenance of the house is not suitable.
